Liisa Jugapuu (b. 1990) is a painter whose style is characterized by powerful brushwork and a strong sense of color. In works that at first glance focus solely on an abstract visual language, figurative elements are also present, manifesting through finer lines. According to the artist, her paintings are born spontaneously.
Jugapuu has participated in exhibitions since 2012, including several group and solo exhibitions, and has taken part in competitions such as “Future Stars of Estonian Art 2016”, where she was awarded third place, and the Young Painter Prize 2016, where she reached the top 15 finalists.
Liisa graduated from the Department of Painting at the Estonian Academy of Arts (BA 2015, MA 2017).
